Dear Mr. Schinner,

Please let me know if you have any questions about the traffic calming information I referred you to earlier today in response to your May 17, 2002 letter (logger #021235). As President of the Orchard Knolls HOA, any request for physical traffic calming measures on Blackberry Drive must come from you.

In our subsequent conversation you stated there are no speed limit signs posted on Blackberry Drive. Blackberry Drive is a secondary residential street and therefore the applicable speed limit would be 25 MPH. As I said, a speed limit sign would typically be installed on southbound Blackberry Drive within about 100' of MD 28. You wanted to propose an alternative location for the sign and asked that someone from our Signing & Marking Unit contact you
to discuss the matter. Therefore, by copy of this message, I am requesting Pat Bradley - Team Leader to have the appropriate person contact you.

In your letter you also mentioned the presence of tot lots adjacent to Blackberry Drive. I am also asking that the Signing & Marking Unit consider installing standard symbolic "Playground" signs if in the course of their field review it is determined that there are no existing warning signs for the tot lots.

If you have any questions about the Residential Traffic Calming Program, I can be reached at 240-777-2181.
